Vietnam International Software Testing and Automation Conference 2010 – VISTACON 2010 – will be hosted from 20 – 22 September 2010 at White Palace, Ho Chi Minh City with the theme of “Advancing the State-of-the Practice of Software Testing and Test Automation”. The conference brings the leading thinkers from around the globe in testing area such as Microsoft, US, LogiGear US, Học Viện Florida, Electronic Arts, McAFee...
To join the “Bug Hunting 2010”, contestants will register their information at www.vistacon.vn/bughunting and participate in the contest from 15th July to 15th August 2010 by testing a web application provided by LogiGear. Top five contestants will be evaluated based on quality of bugs found and quality of the written bug report. Bug Hunting 2010 winners will be announced on 31st August 2010. Each winner will be awarded a free ticket to attend the first Vietnam International Software Testing Automation Conference (VISTACON 2010). They will be participating in tutorials specializing in test automation taught by the educational experts and having opportunities to discuss directly with the world’s top software testing experts.
In the period 2005 – 2010, Vietnam is evaluated as an attractive center of software outsourcing investment in the world. In that, software testing is currently one of fastest growing segments of outsourcing area. Especially, in 2009, Ho Chi Minh City is listed in the list top 6 most developed cities in the world’s software testing industry of Global Service Media.
According to the judges of VISTACON 2010’s -- experts who are from Microsoft, McAfee, Electronic Arts and LogiGear, comparing to India and China – which are the two word software testing centers, Vietnam despite being a developing country but accumulate sufficient basis for investment of software testing projects. In there, the most notable are the following competitive advantages:
- Cheap labor expenditure with more than 30% lower wages compared to other potential markets, especially India. University graduates are trained in English, one of the most popular languages in the world and in the Information Technology industry specifically. The technology level, including adaptability and integration.
- Infrastructure investment: Vietnam’s economy is one of the economics which has the fastest growing speed of GDP and FDI in Asia (up to 5.32% of GDP in 2009). The education system is constantly renewing.
- Safe investment environment: Vietnam is considered to be one of the safest destinations in the world.
Prior to VISTACON 2010, LogiGear Corporation also hosts the Bug Hunting Contest, called “Bug Hunting 2010” starting from 12 July with the aim to to discover talents and build a community to connect the world’s software test engineers, as well as to promote Vietnam software testing human resources to the global market. Currently, the Bug Hunting Contest 2010 has received more then 160 registrations from the students and engineers in the testing area from around the nation.
