About Your Presentation / Presentation Description

Cem Kaner coined the phrase “exploratory testing” in 1983 to describe the practice of some of the best testers in Silicon Valley. ET is a style of testing that emphasizes the responsibility of the individual tester to optimize the value of the time she spends testing.  In his keynote, Cem presented a case study of exploratory validation of financial models. This is just one of many examples of the use of automated tests in exploratory testing. This talk follows up the keynote with several other examples of automated exploratory testing in other industries.

This pairing of the general talk (Automated ET) and the specific talk (the keynote) worked well at CAST. Several people told me they appreciated seeing both—the detailed case study and the broader presentation. I think a more general ET talk will be harder to connect to the keynote.

However, you know your goals for the conference and your likely participants much better than I do. I'll let you decide which you prefer.
