Dominic Tran, Sr. Technology Manager – Technical Software, Halliburton

Dominic Tran is a Senior Technology Manager with Halliburton.  In this role, he leads the global Technical Software group and is responsible for full development cycle of engineering software for Halliburton Completion Tools and other divisions within the company.  Dominic has more than 20 years experience with oil and gas industry and has held various positions in Manufacture Engineering, Operation Engineering, Field Engineering Support, Software Engineering Analysis, and Technical Software Development &Testing within Halliburton.

With passion for making great software, Dominic and his team have changed the way users think about what is possible in engineering software by releasing a series of innovative software products. These products demonstrate how engineering software can be intuitive, engaging, and pleasant to use. Traditionally, engineering software is relegated to complex systems with steep learning curves. Often, this software is tedious to use and only a handful of experts gain any benefit.

Dominic earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, certificates from the University of Tulsa in Fluid Flow, and the Management Program from Southern Methodist University – Cox School of Business.  He is a member of ASME, SPE, Toast Master certified, and is a recipient of 2006 Key Contributor award from Halliburton Completion Tools. Dominic married his soul mate and they have a teenage vibrant daughter and they live in the Dallas suburb area.
